A small group of local residents formed a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving this vital community resource. In the spring of 2003, the group acquired financing and purchased the store.

Since acquiring the historic store, more than 150 individuals and businesses have worked to clean up and maintain the site and to develop detail plans for its rehabilitation. Taylorstown Community Store, Inc. welcomes the support and involvement of the community. We look forward to hearing from you!

We have received a grant for the renovation of the store's septic system that will help us ensure the safety and water quality of the Catoctin.

Plans for a new environmentally friendly septic system has been submitted to the county for approval.

The Taylorstown Store recently received a grant from VDOT to help in the creation of a visitors center at the store.
